Hi, I'm Kate
I am so glad you are here!
My name is Kate Dempsey and I have dedicated my time in 2025 and 2026 to bring this passion project to others through the Kajabi platform. My private practice reached capacity within six months of opening in 2021, and I have been unable to meet the tsunami of need in the niche therapeutic space where sex, relationships and trauma intersect.
My heart was aching and I was feeling the overwhelming demand for people of all ages, cultures, identities and orientations seeking professional support. I was listening to my program participants, hearing their requests for online content that they could share with the people most important to them, within the comfort and privacy of their own homes. One of the challenges for survivors is wanting to share all the information they receive in program, with their parnters who are not in the room.
"I wish my wife and I could watch you give that talk online, so that we could then have a conversation on the couch together. It's too hard trying to relay the information." Anonymous Participant
Please know you are not alone!
In honouring these needs and requests, I have been leaning into my own personal discomfort at being more online. I value my barefoot time and try to keep a low online presence. This is where I have landed and I hold a heart-felt commitment to providing evidence-based psychosexual education and relationship support for those on a trauma recovery journey.
I appreciate that I have a unique set of qualifications and professional experience in this space. I want to share with you, the pieces that have been most helpful for people to understand about bodies, sex, intimacy, relationships and trauma from my experience as an Accredited Clinical Psychosexual Therapist, Clinical Sexuality Educator and Relationship Therapist.
Please feel free to read my professional biography below and share with anyone you know who may also benefit from being part of this courageous community. I too am stepping into courage and honouring my vulnerability with this online venture.

My Story
With a deep love of country and a barefoot approach to life, I have a background studying Marine Biology at James Cook University, which is how I landed in this location in the dry topics. I realised that I was more of a people person so then went on to qualify as a high school Biology/Chemistry teacher and spent a decade teaching in Australia and England.
In supporting students and their families, I quickly realised the school based sexuality education was not meeting the needs of our young people, and this led me to retrain as a Psychosexual Therapist at a time when our two young children started school.
I started my private practice during the covid years and reached capacity within six months. Rather than expand my practice, I have dedicated my time to providing specialist therapeutic care within the niche space of sexual wellbeing, relationships and trauma recovery. I arrive at this CC community with a clear dedication to support more people trying to navigate some of the complexities of sexuality during trauma recovery.
Living with a breast cancer history and recurrence scare in 2025, I have kindled the courage to bring my work to more people in the hope that they too may find that courageous connections with their loved ones, who support them on the recovery journey. Please know that they are not alone on the path to healing intimate connections.
In my downtime, I enjoy doing as little as possible barefoot on Yunbenun (Magnetic Island) with my family, friends and native wildlife .
My Commitment
My focus is to support more people in understanding the complexity and nuance around sexual wellbeing during a trauma recovery journey. I believe that healing and recovery are embedded in strong, healthy connections. I honour the courage it takes to step into this space and invite you to join us in the monthly Group Phoenix online gathering for (CC members only) to learn more and know that you are not alone.
These Kajabi programs are designed for people navigating challenges with sexual function and intimate relationships during their trauma recovery journey. I have integrated evidence-based psychosexual education, trauma-informed care, and IFS strategies to support people in restoring safety, connection and intimacy at a pace that feels right for them and their partners.
